Our Vision

The Upward Spiral Collective embodies a vision for positive personal and collective growth. Our mission is to strengthen community ties through art, movement, and collaboration, to empower individuals to improve their mental health and reduce the rate of suicide in our community. By fostering meaningful interactions and encouraging individual expression, we work to uplift and support locals who have traditionally been painfully under resourced.

Art Lab Govy

Fostering Creativity and Connection

Art Lab Govy is a free weekly evening of art and community in Government Camp.

Throughout the winter and spring of 2025-2026, the Ratskeller generously donated private use of their arcade upstairs for us to host Art Lab, which regularly drew twenty to fifty locals out from their vehicles that they live in, or their small shared apartments, into a vibrant, thriving community art space.

The effects of art therapy on mental health are significant, and the community grew to trust and rely on our weekly events, knowing we were always a safe place to land, regardless of what hardships they were experiencing.

Art Lab has paved the way for many more exciting things to happen, including moving out to our new community space this summer, The Govy Yard.

Community Gatherings

We are always working to provide fun, supportive events for the community. We recently hosted free community yoga gifted to us by Portia Yoga, in the beautiful Cascade Ski Lodge. In the works we have more free yoga, art classes, and gardening workshops!

The Govy Yard

Investing in Govy

The Govy Yard is our newest initiative to revitalize an underutilized parcel of land in town to provide a dedicated, alcohol-free space for community members to decompress, have movie nights , play games, do art, and exist in a communal space of like-minded folks, who understand the struggles of mountain life. It will also be the new home of The Govy Garden.
